GuideStar® Board Member Dr. John Elstrott Named Chairman of Whole Foods Market

John B. Elstrott, PhD, a member of the Board of Directors of GuideStar® Clinical Trials Management, has been named Chairman of the Board of Whole Foods Market. GuideStar® is a national clinical research company offering comprehensive clinical trials services to medical facilities as a completely outsourced option.
Elstrott was named Chairman for Whole Foods Market in December 2009 and has been a Director of the company since February 1995, serving as Lead Director from 2001 to 2009. He also is Chairman of Resource Conservation Fund, a wetland mitigation banking fund that returns alternative-asset yields to its investors through the restoration of wetlands. In addition to GuideStar®, he serves on the boards of Bioregen, PreSonus, Traditional Medicinals and several others companies.
Elstrott began teaching entrepreneurship at the A. B. Freeman School of Business at Tulane University in 1987, and in 1991 he became Founding Director of the Levy-Rosenblum Institute, which was established to coordinate the Freeman School’s entrepreneurship initiatives and programs. In addition to leading the Institute, he periodically serves as an economic development and strategic planning consultant for state and municipal governments and the U.S. Department of Energy.
