Alan M. Miller, MD, PhD

Director of the Charles A. Sammons Cancer Center and Chief of Oncology at Baylor Healthcare System

Alan M. Miller, MD, PhD is Director of the Charles A. Sammons Cancer Center and Chief of Oncology at Baylor University Medical Center. He has responsibility for the oversight and growth of all aspects of cancer clinical care, research and education at Baylor.

Previously, Alan held multiple positions at Tulane University including founding director of the Bone Marrow Transplant Program, Deputy Director of the Tulane Cancer Center, and Associate Senior Vice President for Health Sciences. Earlier, Alan held faculty positions at the University of Miami and the University of Florida. Alan currently sits on the Research Executive Committee of U. S. Oncology, and is on the Editorial Board of the Journal of Hematotherapy and Stem Cell Research. He also is a member of the International Society for Experimental Hematology, the American Society of Hematology, and the American Society for Clinical Oncology.

Alan received his MD from the University of Miami School of Medicine, his PhD and Masters in Physiology and his Bachelor’s Degree in Biology from the State University of New York in Buffalo. He has received nearly $20 million in research grants and contracts and been published extensively in the leading domestic and international trade journals and publications. Alan has received numerous awards and honors from the National Institutes of Health, American Cancer Society, Brown Foundation and others.
